The short version: Proofie Scan & OCR never uploads your scans. There is no account, no ads and no tracking.

Your scans

Scanning and text recognition happen on your device. Proofie Scan & OCR does not upload your scans, text or files to us or to any server, and it works offline.

Every finished scan is saved as a PDF into a folder you choose on your phone, and, if you leave that option on, a copy of the pages goes to your Photos library. Those files belong to you and stay where they are if you delete the app. Proofie also keeps its own working copy inside the app, used for search and the Library, and your phone removes that copy if you delete the app. If you share, print or export a file, it goes where you send it, and that app or service then handles it.

A few small things are downloaded once, such as the language files used for translation, and on Android a model that helps pick out details like dates and addresses. These downloads come from Apple or Google, and none of your scans or text is sent when they happen.

Permissions

Camera: to scan pages and ID cards. Photos: to import images you pick, and to save a copy of your scans if you leave that option on. Files: only the folder you choose for saving, and files you pick to open. Permissions are used on your device and can be turned off in system settings.

What we collect

Proofie Scan & OCR does not require an account and does not collect personal data through the app. It has no advertising and no analytics or tracking. Apple and Google may process purchase and download information under their own policies.

Proofie Pro is an optional yearly subscription. The payment is handled entirely by the App Store or Google Play, so Proofie never sees your card or payment details. The app only asks the store whether your subscription is active.

This website

getproofie.com uses no cookies, no analytics and no tracking scripts, so there is no cookie banner. If you use the contact form, your name, email and message are sent to us as an email, and we use them only to reply.

Children

Proofie Scan & OCR does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.

Your rights

Because we hold no personal data from the app, there is nothing to access or delete. For emails you have sent us, you can ask us to delete them at any time.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date above. If we add features that affect your data, we will explain it here first.
